Privacy Policy for Rudo Dating App

Last updated: 15 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Zimplugs, operator of Rudo Dating App ("Rudo", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the Rudo website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. The Service is intended only for people aged 18 and older.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account and contact information: username, name, email address, telephone number, password credentials, language, and social-login identifiers.
  • Profile information: age or date of birth, gender, sexual orientation, relationship status, biography, location, photographs, videos, social-media links, interests, lifestyle preferences, physical characteristics, political views, worldview, and the people or relationships you are interested in finding.
  • Communications and content: private messages, images, audio, video, comments, support requests, reports, and other content you send or publish through the Service.
  • Purchases: information about credits, virtual items, transaction status, purchase history, and payment-provider references. Payment card or banking details are generally processed directly by the relevant app store or payment provider rather than stored by Rudo.
  • Safety and verification information: information submitted when you report another user, appeal a decision, verify an account, or contact us about safety or misuse.

Information collected automatically

  • Location information: approximate or precise device location when you grant permission, and location information you add to your profile or content. We use this for nearby discovery, distance calculations, and location-based features.
  • Device and technical information: IP address, device type, operating system, browser, language, user agent, app version, device or advertising identifiers, push-notification tokens, access tokens, and diagnostic information.
  • Usage information: logins, screens or pages viewed, searches, matches, likes, visits, blocks, reports, feature interactions, and the date and time of activity.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: information used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Service, measure usage, and, where permitted, provide or measure advertising.

Information from other sources

If you sign in through Google, Apple, or Facebook, we receive information authorised by you and provided by that service, such as an account identifier, name, email address, or profile information. We may also receive transaction confirmation from Apple App Store, Google Play, PayPal, or another payment provider.

2. Sensitive profile information

A dating service may process information that can be sensitive, including sexual orientation, political views, worldview or beliefs, precise location, private communications, and photographs. Some profile fields are necessary to provide relevant discovery and matching features, while others are optional.

Where applicable law requires consent for sensitive information, we rely on your decision to provide that information and your consent to use it for the profile, discovery, matching, safety, and communication features you request. You can update or remove optional profile information in your account settings. You can withdraw consent by removing the information, disabling the relevant permission or feature, or deleting your account. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure accounts;
  • Display profiles and user content according to privacy settings;
  • Provide discovery, nearby-user, search, matching, messaging, calling, notification, and social features;
  • Process purchases, maintain balances, deliver paid features, and prevent payment fraud;
  • Personalise and improve the Service and understand how features are used;
  • Provide customer support and respond to privacy, safety, and legal requests;
  • Detect, investigate, prevent, and address fraud, scams, abuse, security incidents, objectionable content, and violations of our Terms;
  • Moderate content and enforce account restrictions;
  • Send service, security, match, message, and other notifications according to your settings;
  • Measure and display advertising where enabled and permitted; and
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect users, Zimplugs, and others.

4. Legal bases for processing

Where the GDPR or similar law applies, we process information under one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract: to create your account and provide the features you request under our Terms of Use.
  • Consent: for optional sensitive profile information, device permissions, certain cookies, personalised advertising, and other processing where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure and improve the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, moderate content, provide support, and understand Service performance, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligations: to comply with tax, accounting, law-enforcement, court, regulatory, and other binding legal requirements.
  • Vital interests: where processing is reasonably necessary to protect someone's life or physical safety.

5. Profile visibility and other users

Rudo is designed to help users discover and communicate with one another. Depending on your settings and activity, other users may see information such as your name, age, profile photographs, approximate location or distance, biography, interests, relationship preferences, and other profile details you choose to display.

Messages and content you send directly to another user are available to that recipient. Recipients may save or share information outside Rudo, and we cannot control what another person does after receiving it. Use care when sharing personal information.

6. When we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • With other users: as necessary to provide profiles, discovery, matching, messaging, and other social features.
  • With service providers: companies that provide hosting, storage, content delivery, analytics, advertising, authentication, notifications, communications, moderation, security, customer support, and payment services.
  • With platform and payment providers: including Apple, Google, PayPal, and other providers involved in app distribution, authentication, advertising, purchases, or transaction verification.
  • For legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, respond to a lawful request, investigate misuse, protect rights or safety, or prevent fraud and security threats.
  • During a business transfer: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of all or part of the Service, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards.
  • With your direction or consent: when you ask us to share information or clearly consent to the sharing.

Third-party technologies used by the Service may include Google services such as Firebase, Analytics, Authentication, Cloud Messaging, AdMob, and Play services; Apple services such as Sign in with Apple, App Store, and push notifications; Facebook Login; PayPal; and other infrastructure providers needed to operate the Service. Their processing is also governed by their own privacy policies.

7. Advertising and analytics

Rudo may use analytics to understand Service performance and advertising services to display or measure ads. These services may process device information, advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location, and usage information.

Where required, we request consent before using information for personalised advertising or non-essential analytics. You can review available choices through the consent interface, device privacy settings, advertising settings, or by resetting or limiting your device's advertising identifier. Contextual or non-personalised ads may still be shown.

8. Cookies

The website uses essential cookies for authentication, security, preferences, and core functionality. It may also use analytics or advertising cookies where enabled. Where required by law, non-essential cookies are used only after consent. You can manage cookies through your browser, although blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working.

9. Data retention and account deletion

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain account security, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms, meet legal obligations, and protect users.

You can delete your account using the account-deletion option available in the Service. You may also request deletion by emailing support@zimplugs.com. When account deletion is completed, your profile is no longer available and associated personal information is deleted or de-identified, subject to limited exceptions.

We may retain limited information where reasonably required for legal compliance, accounting, fraud and abuse prevention, safety investigations, dispute resolution, enforcement, or the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims. Information may also remain temporarily in protected backups until those backups are overwritten under normal retention cycles. Messages or content already received or saved by another user may remain in that user's possession outside our control.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Request deletion of your information;
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Receive certain information in a portable format;
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; and
  • Complain to an applicable data-protection authority.

You can manage profile information, privacy controls, location permission, notification settings, and certain advertising choices through the Service or your device. To make a privacy request, email support@zimplugs.com. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect the account.

11. Matching and automated processing

Rudo uses information such as age, gender, sexual orientation, interests, activity, preferences, and location to filter, order, or recommend profiles and features. These processes support discovery and matching but do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

12. International data transfers

Rudo and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Privacy laws in those countries may differ. Where required, we use recognised safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, contractual protections, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so you should use a strong, unique password and protect your login credentials.

14. Age restriction

Rudo is only for people aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to create an account. If you believe a person under 18 is using the Service, report the account or contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Service, our practices, or legal requirements. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your privacy rights.
